Cadbury chocolate sandwich for kids | Alternative for Nutella sandwich

is something very irresistible no matter how old you are. While I had been to Goa, I saw most of the tourists at the cafeteria were enjoying this chocolate sandwich for breakfast with the sea view and sunrise. Know what? They were in their mid-40s and 50s but still enjoyed, like, a 5-year-old smacking their fingertips.

  • The fact that Nutella chocolate as a substitute or topping is used in many places is humongous, but it was disappointing to see that people will never give up on Nutella even after understanding the truth about it.
  • I’m not here to comment on the brand. But for my chocolate sandwich lover daughter, I found an alternative to Nutella, and that is Cadbury Sandwich. Also, you can use any dark compound chocolate.
  • Again, this is not healthy, I know, I know! but only an alternative that is effectively better than the Nutella sandwiches. My daughter had suffered for a while due to some health condition, and since then I have become an even more conscious mama than ever. She loves chocolate just like any kid, but she is intolerable to sweets at times.

——————————————————-

The two ingredients that go into preparing the Nutella chocolate are something I found not suitable to introduce to any children, especially. They are palm oil and synthetic vanillin. Palm oil anyway is never a good option for our heart, and synthetic vanillin is prepared by using two compounds that are a kind of petrochemical, which further is a substitute for crude oil.

Now that doesn’t sound easy… right?

So how do I prepare a chocolate sandwich for my daughter?

  1. Take a bowl. Add 1 tsp of butter to 10 chunks of Cadbury chocolate.
  2. Heat in microwave or double boiler until they look soggy.
  3. Beat with a whisk and add 1/2 tsp of milk to it so as to prevent it from drying out further.
  4. In a white bread or any bread of your choice, remove the sides, spread the chocolate and toast/grill it on both sides with butter.
  5. Ready to be served. Consume before they get cold.

Note that:

Cadbury chocolate alone tends to harden and dry quickly because it is not designed like a spreadable chocolate filling.

For sandwiches, the best way is to melt it gently with a little fat or milk so it stays soft and creamy.

You can do any of these:

  • Add 1–2 tsp warm milk while melting
  • Add a little butter
  • Add fresh cream for a smoother texture

Easy Method

Break the Cadbury chocolate into pieces and microwave for 10–15 seconds at a time. Stir in between. Once slightly melted, mix in a little warm milk or butter until it becomes glossy and spreadable.

This will:

  • prevent quick drying
  • keep the sandwich soft
  • make it easier for kids to eat
  • taste more like a café-style chocolate spread

If you want an even richer filling, mix melted Cadbury with a spoon of peanut butter or homemade chocolate sauce. This melted Cadbury with butter toasted sandwich is seriously an irresistible snack to fulfill cravings on a monthly basis.

Make sure you brush with a strong toothpaste for your teeth and your kids’ teeth with anti-cavity toothpaste. Rinse with warm salt water after every food consumed.
