From the moment we entered the property in the evening, the calm lighting, earthy textures, and welcoming ambience instantly set the tone for a relaxing getaway.

About the Resort

The Bark is not just a hotel stay—it feels more like stepping into an artistic retreat designed with personality and character. Every corner of the property reflects creativity through paintings, sculptures, rustic furniture, textured walls, curated décor pieces, and cozy seating areas. It was a good exposure for my daughter since she loves art and crafts. So after returning home, she made a lot of artwork inspired by the recent trip.

The reception and indoor lounge spaces are beautifully designed to encourage interaction, relaxation, and slow living. Instead of overly luxurious or commercial interiors, the hotel focuses more on warmth, comfort, and artistic detailing, which makes the entire experience feel intimate and memorable.

As an architect, what I personally appreciated was how thoughtfully the materials, lighting, and décor elements were layered together to create visual interest without overwhelming the space.

Our stay at The Bark was peaceful, comfortable, and very family-friendly. The atmosphere throughout the property felt calm and cozy, making it suitable for couples, families, and even solo travelers looking for a quiet break from city life.

One of the highlights was how interactive the common areas were. From indoor games and reading corners to comfortable lounge seating, the hotel creates spaces where families can actually spend quality time together instead of remaining confined only to the room. We were spending more time in the play area and on the lawn than in the room. Somehow, due to the arrangement of furniture, we always got some privacy.

The artistic interiors combined with soft lighting during the evenings gave the property a very warm and inviting character.

Food

The food experience at The Bark was simple, comforting, and enjoyable. The property offers a cozy dining setup that complements the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Whether enjoying breakfast or winding down after a long day in Lonavala, the overall dining experience felt pleasant and homely.

The calm ambience of the dining area, combined with the artistic surroundings, added to the overall charm of the stay. The menu has Maharashtrian, North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, and Italian dishes and beverages of choice on their menu along with some limited seasonal desserts. Pricing was average.

The hotel features a cozy indoor recreational area with activities for both children and adults. Guests can enjoy chess, carrom, table games, reading corners with books, comfortable lounge seating, and interactive family spaces designed for relaxation and quality time together.

Depending on the season, the prices may show a huge difference. It’s better to call the resort reception directly and get the accommodations booked. Direct walk-in guests may get some offers, as we did that, and the overall stay cost us very little for 2 nights. very polite and friendly staff; they made our stay peaceful.
